IC cards and payment in detail

Suica and the other nationwide transport IC cards (Kitaca, PASMO, manaca, TOICA, PiTaPa, ICOCA, Hayakaken, nimoca, SUGOCA) work at the automatic gates between Monorail Hamamatsuchō and Haneda Airport. You can top up with cash only (even on cards with a credit function) at ticket machines and fare adjustment machines with the Suica mark. Since 15 March 2025 the Suica cards issued by Tokyo Monorail are the same as JR East Suica. Contactless credit card touch at the gates is not mentioned on the operator's pages. P

東京モノレールでは「Suica」の他に、下記のICカード乗車券もご利用いただけます。

Getting on

  1. Touch an IC card at the automatic gate, or buy a ticket from the ticket machine.
  2. Mobile ticket (one way between Monorail Hamamatsuchō and the Haneda Airport Terminal 1, 2 and 3 stations, bought online): just before passing, tap "use" (利用) and confirm, then show the screen to the staff at the staffed gate.
  3. With a mobile ticket you cannot use the JR transfer gate at Hamamatsuchō: leave via the monorail central exit staffed gate and enter JR at its South gate (and the reverse when going to the airport).

Getting off

  1. Leave through the automatic gate with the same IC card or ticket; the IC card pays automatically, including any extra beyond a commuter pass section.
