Buy a ticket to your destination station before boarding.
The renewed ticket machines (installed from November 2024) take cash, e-money, credit cards and QR-code payment; e-money cannot be topped up there. Screens can be switched between 5 languages.
Getting on
At a station without staff, take a boarding slip (乗車票) when you get on and keep it until you get off.
Getting off
At a station without staff, pay your fare (or put in your ticket) at the fare box in the front car before you get off.
