Getting on

  1. At stations with a ticket machine (Goryōkaku, Nanaehama, Higashi-Kunebetsu, Kunebetsu, Kiyokawaguchi, Kamiiso, Kikonai), buy your ticket before boarding.
  2. The machines take cash, credit cards, code payment and e-money; for single tickets and the one-day ticket only ¥1,000 notes are accepted.
  3. From Hakodate, buy the ticket at JR Hakodate Station (there is a machine for trips onto this line).

Getting on

  1. At stations without a ticket machine, or where it cannot be used, take a numbered ticket (整理券 seiriken) when you board and have coins ready.
  2. Moheji, Izumisawa and Satsukari have agents selling tickets from that station; if no one is there, take a numbered ticket and pay when you get off.
Wheelchair assistance

Wheelchair users are accepted only when boarding or alighting at Hakodate, Goryōkaku and Kikonai (not Nanaehama–Satsukari); call head office by 17:00 the day before, also when transferring from another company. Same for other help with boarding. Office open weekdays 9:00–17:00. For Hakodate–Goryōkaku, ask JR Hokkaido. Tel. 0138-83-1977
