IC cards and payment in detail

All ten nationwide transport IC cards work at the gates of every New Shuttle station (Ōmiya – Uchijuku), and you can top them up on the line. Suica and PASMO auto-charge works at the gates of every station. New Shuttle does not sell Suica or PASMO commuter passes. Ticket machines also accept transport IC cards as payment for tickets. Credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX, Diners, Discover; not J-Debit) are accepted only at the Ōmiya station window; other stations take cash. Contactless card touch at the gates is not mentioned. P

Getting on

  1. Touch an IC card at the gate, or buy a ticket at the ticket machine (cash or IC card; the machines have a number keypad to enter the fare, and a braille fare table is next to them).
  2. Wheelchair users: staff guide you to the platform and help you board. Contact the station in advance if you can; otherwise tell the staff or use the intercom next to the ticket machines and wait for staff. At Yoshinohara and Shiku a stair-climbing chair is used.

Getting off

  1. Touch the same IC card at the exit gate or put your ticket in.
