Getting on

  1. At staffed stations (Nishi-Wakamatsu, Ashinomaki-Onsen, Yunokami-Onsen, Aizu-Shimogō, Aizu-Tajima) buy a ticket at the window: tell staff your destination. Cash only; no credit cards or e-money.
  2. Go through the gate with your ticket.
  3. All Aizu Line trains start from JR Aizu-Wakamatsu (platform 4 or 5); no change at Nishi-Wakamatsu.

Getting on

  1. Go straight to the platform. Doors are push-button: press the button at the rear door of the first car to open it.
  2. Take a numbered ticket (整理券 seiriken) and board.
  3. If a conductor is on board, wait in your seat: the conductor comes round, asks where you are going and sells you a ticket.
