How to book
- Book online from 10:00, 30 days before, until 3 days before the ride (link on the trolley train page)
- Collect the ticket on the day at the window of the departure station (Takamori, or the Minami Aso Railway ticket booth at Tateno)
- Without a booking, buy a same-day ticket if seats are left: Takamori from 9:00, Tateno only shortly before each departure
- Groups book by fax (see the group booking page on the website)

Holders of a Minami Aso Railway 1-day free ticket pay only the seat fee. The fare rose on 1 October 2026 (the trolley page still shows the old total of 1,500 yen). A higher seat fee (1,050 yen booked ahead, 1,150 yen same day) is planned from 1 March 2027.
