How to book
- Buy a reserved-seat ticket before boarding, from 10:00 one month before the travel day, at JR ticket offices (midori no madoguchi) or reserved-seat ticket machines.
- Also sold online on Ekinet (JR East, membership needed).
- You also need a normal ticket (fare) for the journey.
- From spring 2026, seats in the lounge car need a railway-experience event booked on JRE MALL Ticket.
