How to book

  1. Book online on Eki-net (Japanese) or JR-EAST Train Reservation (for visitors) from 10:00 one month before the travel day
  2. Eki-net early booking: Shinkansen e-tickets for Hayabusa can be requested from 14:00 three months ahead (limited seats, credit card only)
  3. With a Shinkansen e-ticket, link the booking to your IC card (Suica, PASMO…) and tap it at the Shinkansen gate
  4. Or buy at a reserved-seat ticket machine or JR ticket office (Midori-no-Madoguchi)

Fare plus a Shinkansen reserved-seat express fee. There are no non-reserved cars, so a JAPAN RAIL PASS or other pass needs a seat reservation too.
