  1. Reserve car 1 or car 2 on Fujikyu's online limited express reservation site; reserved seats stop selling when full
  2. Car 3 is non-reserved: buy fare + limited express ticket only (you may have to stand)

Car 1 = observation car (reserved), car 2 = reserved, car 3 = non-reserved. The reserved seat fee is on top of the fare and the limited express fee. Between Kawaguchiko and Fujisan only the fare is needed.
