Is it worth it?

Add the normal one-way fares of the rides you plan within 3 days (from the fare charts at stations or a route planner).

Express, seat and Green car charges are usually not included in a pass: leave them out of the fares too unless the pass covers them.

    How to use it

    1. Buy online (JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS Online Booking, credit card), as a voucher from a travel agency, or at a designated station in Kyushu.
    2. Exchange the booking or voucher for the pass at a designated JR Kyushu station counter, with your passport (and, for online booking, the credit card and QR exchange order).
    3. Put the pass through the automatic gate (the seat ticket does not open the gate). Reserve seats for free at stations or online.
    4. Carry your passport while using the pass.

    Disruptions in this pass's area

Lines the pass covers where trains do not run now. Ask the operator whether the pass is also valid on its replacement buses or taxis.

Service suspended · 肥薩線Hisatsu Line: no trains between Yatsushiro and Yoshimatsu since the July 2020 heavy rain. JR Kyushu runs taxis only on the Yatsushiro – Hagi and Isshochi – Hitoyoshi sections, so plan another route for through journeys. As of 2026-10-10. Source
