Getting on

  1. Buy a ticket at the staffed station (ticket machine or window). Staffed stations are unstaffed at some times; check the staffing timetable.

Getting on

  1. At stations without staff, board by the frontmost door of the first car.
  2. Take a numbered ticket (整理券 seiriken) as you board.

Getting off

  1. As your station approaches, move to the front of the first car.
  2. Check the fare on the fare display, then put the fare and your numbered ticket into the fare box and get off.
Wheelchair assistance

Railway Department, head office. All trains are one-man. Yamana, Nishi-Tomioka and Sendaira stations have stairs and cannot be used by wheelchair users. Electric wheelchairs: only simple self-propelled types, with a helper, and call at least 2 days before. Stations and times with staff are easier. Tel. 027-323-8073
