IC cards and payment in detail

Transport IC cards such as SUGOCA and nimoca cannot be used on the Heisei Chikuhō Railway. Pay cash on board or use a paper ticket or pass. P

Getting on

  1. Board through the rear door and take a numbered ticket (seiriken).
  2. Station ticket windows: only Kanada sells all tickets; the JR windows at Nōgata, Yukuhashi and the Tagawa stations handle commuter passes only.

Getting off

  1. Get off through the front door. Show your ticket, or pay the fare, together with the numbered ticket to the driver.
  2. Changing trains without a ticket: tell the driver, pay to your destination and keep the receipt to show on the next train with the numbered ticket.
  3. Getting off at Tagawa-Gotōji (or at Yukuhashi when the west exit is closed), you receive a fare certificate: hand it in at the JR gate or on the JR train.
