- Buy a ticket at the station ticket machine (it sells tickets from that station), or use PASMO/Suica.
- Machine tickets carry a 2D (QR-type) code: hold it over the code reader at the gate when entering and when leaving.
- If the machine at your station was out of order, buy a ticket for your journey at the machine of your arrival station and put it in the ticket box.
- Coupon tickets were discontinued on 31 July 2025 (except disability and student types).
Getting off
- Hold your ticket's code over the reader at the exit gate, or touch your IC card.
- If you rode beyond your ticket, pay the difference.
