IC cards and payment in detail

Suica, PASMO and other transport IC cards cannot be used on the Aoimori Railway line. No date has been set for introducing them. P

Getting on

  1. Buy a ticket at the window or ticket machine and go through the gate. Tickets and passes bought from a ticket machine work in the automatic gates at Aomori and Hachinohe; tickets bought at a window go through the staffed gate.

Getting off

  1. Hand in your ticket at the gate, or show your pass to the staff at the staffed gate.

Getting on

  1. At unstaffed stations (and staffed stations outside window hours), board by the rearmost door of the first car and take a numbered ticket (seiriken) on the train.
  2. If you are going to a staffed station, you can buy your ticket at the gate there.

Getting off

  1. On a one-man train getting off at an unstaffed station, show your ticket or pass to the driver; tickets go into the fare box.
