Step-free accessStation list →PThere is a step between platform and train, so station staff or the driver help wheelchair users on and off: call Motosu Station (0581-34-3768) at least 2 days ahead so a car with a ramp can be arranged. Ogaki, Morera Gifu and Oribe stations have ramps to the platform; each station page says whether wheelchairs can get in.
Transport IC cards (TOICA, Suica etc.), credit cards and the Japan Rail Pass cannot be used: the Tarumi line is cash only. Day passes can be bought cashless online (RYDE PASS app, 7-Eleven). If you entered JR at Ōgaki with an IC card, tell the Tarumi window or the driver: you get an IC processing slip to settle the JR part at a TOICA station. P
Buy a ticket at Ōgaki (Tarumi Railway ticket office on JR platform 6, 8:00–16:00; or the rightmost JR ticket machine, for tickets from Ōgaki only), Kitagata-Makuwa (window Tue and Fri 15:00–18:00) or Motosu (window from first to last train; ticket machine for single tickets from Motosu).
A ticket is valid on the day of sale only (return tickets 2 days); you cannot stop off on the way. If you could not buy a ticket, pay on the train when you get off.
