IC cards can be used on the Hakone Tozan Train (Odawara–Gora), but not on the Hakone Tozan Cable Car beyond Gora. The operator's FAQ only says 'IC cards' without naming them. Tickets and the Hakone Freepass can be bought by credit card at the Hakone-Yumoto and Gora windows. Contactless credit-card touch at the gates is not mentioned. P

- Buy a ticket, or use an IC card. Credit cards are accepted for tickets and the Hakone Freepass at the Hakone-Yumoto and Gora windows.
- Some stations have no staff early in the morning and at night. If you need help (for example with a wheelchair), use the intercom by the ticket gate; staff come from the managing station, which can take a while.
Wheelchair assistance
If you use a wheelchair and travel when a station is unstaffed, tell the station the date and time in advance and staff will be there to help.
