IC cards and payment in detail

PiTaPa (post-paid, billed later; Kobe New Transit gives a monthly usage discount on PiTaPa) and ICOCA (sold at the red ticket machines at every station; Mobile ICOCA and ICOCA in Apple Pay also work) are accepted on both the Port Liner and the Rokko Liner. The operator also links to the nationwide IC card mutual-use guide from its "other IC cards" page, but that page lists the other cards only as an image, so cards such as Suica are not confirmed in text here. ICOCA users can register their card at a ticket machine for a monthly cash-back (charge rebate) scheme. P

Getting on

  1. Pass the automatic ticket gate before boarding.
  2. Paper ticket or one-day ticket: buy it at the station ticket machine (the red machines at every station also sell ICOCA and one-day tickets).
  3. IC card (PiTaPa, ICOCA): touch it on the gate reader.
  4. Contactless Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover or UnionPay card, or a phone/watch set up with one: touch the dedicated reader. Only one wide gate per gate area has it. Adult fare only, one person per card, and you cannot buy paper tickets with a credit card. Children should use an IC card or a ticket.

Getting off

  1. Leave through the automatic ticket gate. With an IC card or a contactless card, touch the same card or device you entered with; the fare is deducted or charged then.
