IC cards and payment in detail

Transport IC cards work on the whole line (Nagoya–Kinjo-futo): touch the card on the ticket gate. The Aonami Line page shows the accepted cards as pictures and refers to the nationwide mutual-use area; in text it names manaca and says PiTaPa works only with a prepaid (charged) balance, not in post-pay mode. The nimoca terms list Nagoya Rinkai Rapid Transit among operators that take nimoca. With one manaca, changing between the Aonami Line and a Nagoya city bus or subway within 90 minutes gives a transfer discount (adult ¥80, child ¥40). manaca is sold at the Nagoya, Nakajima and Kinjo-futo station windows. Getting on

  1. Check the fare to your destination on the fare chart above the ticket machines.
  2. Buy a ticket at the ticket machine, or use a transport IC card.
  3. Put the ticket through the automatic gate (every station has them), or touch your IC card, and take your ticket back before going to the platform.

Getting off

  1. Put your ticket into the automatic gate to leave; the gate keeps it. With an IC card, touch it on the gate reader.
  2. If you rode further than your ticket covers, pay the difference before leaving.
