Tickets and booking P

No booking needed. Foot passengers cannot book on either the ferry or the high-speed boat: boarding is first come, first served; buy the ticket at the port on the day. Cars can be booked online (from 2 months ahead, until 4 hours before departure; not for the 6:25 and 7:20 ferries from Takamatsu).

• Ferry: Shōdoshima ferry centre inside the Sunport Takamatsu ferry centre (office hours 8:00–19:30)
• High-speed boat: its own counter at Sunport Takamatsu (office hours 8:00–18:30)
• Tonoshō: Shōdoshima Tonoshō office at Tonoshō Port (office hours 8:00–19:30)

Paying: On the ferry route, credit cards (JCB, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Diners) and the IruCa IC card are accepted, single payment only; cards cannot be used for the high-speed boat

Good to know P

• No bicycles on the high-speed boat, not even in a bike bag; take the ferry with a bicycle.
• On weekdays (not Sat, Sun or holidays) the 15:10 from Takamatsu and the 19:30 from Tonoshō carry dangerous goods and foot passengers cannot board.
• With a ferry return ticket you can take the high-speed boat by paying a 700 yen supplement (child 350 yen).
• The return half of a return ticket is valid for 7 days including the day of issue.
