Booking recommended. Bookings for passengers and cars open at 8:30 one month before the sailing date, online (24 h) or by phone (Kagoshima 099-225-1551, weekdays 8:30–17:00, Saturdays 8:30–12:00). Seats are limited and sailings can be full. At the port fill in a boarding form and pay at the window, at least 1 hour before departure; check-in closes 30 minutes before departure.
