1. Board at Orihata

Have your cash, ticket or pass ready and wait on the platform behind the white line.
Let passengers get off by the front door first, then board by the rear door (rear in the direction of travel).
As you board, take a numbered ticket (整理券 seiriken). Commuter-pass holders do not need one.
With a commuter pass or coupon ticket you may also board by the front door once everyone has got off.

2. On the train

One-man train: the driver drives and collects fares. Keep your ticket or 整理券 until you get off.

Get off by the front door, beside the driver.
Put your fare together with your 整理券, or your ticket, into the fare box on the driver's side.

seiriken — numbered ticket

Take one when you board at an unstaffed station or stop. Keep it.

unchinhyō — fare display

The board above the driver. Each number on it has an amount.

運賃箱

unchinbako — fare box

The box next to the driver. Put your fare in it when you get off.

ワンマン

wanman — one-man operation

The driver drives and also collects fares. Pay at the fare box or give the 整理券 and fare to the driver.

無人駅

mujin-eki — unstaffed station

No staff member at the window. Use the unstaffed steps.

有人駅

yūjin-eki — staffed station

A staff member can check your ticket at the gate.
