IC cards (ICOCA etc.) cannot be used on the Shigaraki Line, not even to pay the fare: pay in cash. Coming from JR at Kibukawa, use the simple IC gate in front of the Shigaraki Kohgen Railway platform at JR Kibukawa station to end your JR trip. P

Getting on

  1. From JR Kibukawa: take a boarding-station certificate (乗車駅証明書) when you board. If you arrived at Kibukawa on JR with an IC card, touch out at the simple IC gate in front of the Shigaraki platform first.

Getting on

  1. All trains are one-man. At intermediate (unstaffed) stations board by the rear door of the first car and take a numbered ticket (整理券). On 2-car trains the second car's doors do not open at intermediate stations (except weekday morning rush and events).
