IC cards and payment in detail

PASMO works at every station of the Saitama Stadium Line (Akabane-iwabuchi – Urawa-misono), and the other nationwide transport IC cards work through the nationwide mutual-use scheme. You can buy PASMO from the ticket machines or the station window (child PASMO needs proof of age). Hold only one IC card to the gate reader: two cards in one case cannot be read. Tickets are sold for cash only: the operator says it does not take credit cards for ticket purchases. P

PASMOは、首都圏のほとんどの私鉄・地下鉄・JR・バスのほか、全国相互利用エリアでもご利用いただけます。

Getting on

  1. Use an IC card such as PASMO or Suica, or buy a ticket at the ticket machine (cash only). If the machine gave you the wrong ticket, tell the staff.
  2. Touch your IC card on the gate reader (one card at a time) or insert your ticket.
  3. The line connects directly with the Tokyo Metro Namboku Line at Akabane-iwabuchi, so many trains run through to central Tokyo.

Getting off

  1. Leave through the automatic gate, touching the same IC card or inserting your ticket.
  2. If you rode further than your ticket covers, pay the difference at the fare adjustment machine or the window (no refund if you paid too much).
