IC cards and payment in detail

The ten nationwide transport IC cards (ICOCA, Kitaca, Suica, PASMO, TOICA, manaca, PiTaPa, SUGOCA, nimoca, Hayakaken) work on the Ohmi Railway line. ICOCA is sold (¥500 deposit included) and topped up at station windows when staff are there; you cannot top up on the train. Child IC cards (e.g. child ICOCA) pay a flat ¥10 per ride. P

Getting on

  1. All trains are one-man (driver only).
  2. Board the front car of the train through its rear door.
  3. No IC card, or paying cash: take a numbered ticket (seiriken) as you board.
  4. IC card: keep it ready to touch when you get off.

Getting off

  1. Get off through the front door of the front car.
  2. Touch your IC card, or put your numbered ticket and the exact fare into the fare box right behind the driver.
  3. The fare box gives no change: change notes or coins first at the change machine on the fare box.
  4. Mobile pass (RYDE PASS): show the screen to the crew; from an unstaffed station show it when you get off.
