Transport IC cards such as ICOCA cannot be used on the Nishikigawa Seiryū Line, nor on the JR Gantoku Line that its trains use between Kawanishi and Iwakuni. Credit cards are not accepted either: pay fares on board in cash. P

Getting on

  1. All trains run through from Iwakuni (JR Gantoku Line) to Nishikichō; Nishikigawa Railway fares apply only from Kawanishi, so Iwakuni – Kawanishi is a separate JR fare.
  2. At Iwakuni, buy a Seiryū Line ticket from the station ticket machine and board at platform 0.
  3. Coming from another JR Sanyō Line station, buy a JR ticket to Kawanishi, change at Iwakuni platform 0 and pay the rest on board.
  4. Coming on the JR Gantoku Line, pay the JR fare when you get off at Kawanishi, then board the Seiryū Line train there.
  5. Otherwise take a numbered ticket (seiriken) when you board.

Getting off

  1. Pay the Seiryū Line fare on board in cash. Holders of mobile tickets show the active ticket screen to the driver when getting off (no screenshots).
  2. Getting off at Iwakuni or Nishi-Iwakuni, you also pay the JR fare for Kawanishi – Iwakuni.
