Getting on

  1. At Maya Cable Station (bottom) buy a ticket at the ticket counter: cable only (to Niji Station) adult ¥450 one way / ¥780 return; through to Hoshi-no-eki at the top with the Maya Ropeway ¥900 / ¥1,560 (child about half).
  2. Or pass the gate by touching a contactless credit, debit or prepaid card (or a phone) on the reader at the gate.
  3. Change at Niji Station for the Maya Ropeway to Hoshi-no-eki (Kikuseidai). Cars run every 20 minutes; closed on Tuesdays (the next weekday if Tuesday is a holiday).
  4. Check the last car down before going up: there is no other transport off the mountain except a taxi called from the city.
