IC cards and payment in detail

PiTaPa and ICOCA, and since 3 March 2015 also Kitaca, PASMO, Suica, manaca, TOICA, Hayakaken, nimoca and SUGOCA, work on all Shintetsu lines: touch the card on the ticket gate and the fare is settled automatically. ICOCA is sold (¥2,000 incl. ¥500 deposit) at the commuter-pass offices. You can top up with cash (¥1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 5,000 or 10,000) at station ticket machines, fare-adjustment machines and staffed windows. ICOCA auto-charge cannot be set up. Old paper/magnetic ride sets cannot be combined with IC cards. P

PiTaPa、ICOCAに加え、2015年3月3日よりKitaca、PASMO、Suica、Manaca、TOICA、はやかけん、nimoca、SUGOCAがご利用いただけるようになりました。

Getting on

  1. IC card (PiTaPa, ICOCA, Suica and the other nationwide cards): touch it on the ticket gate.
  2. Contactless Visa, Mastercard, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover or UnionPay card (or a phone set up with one): only at Minatogawa, Suzurandai, Kita-Suzurandai, Tanigami, Arimaguchi, Arima-Onsen, Shijimi and a few other main stations. Touch the dedicated reader, which is at the station window; at some stations it cannot be used while no staff are on duty. Adult fare only, one person per card, and do not use it together with another ticket or IC card.
  3. If something is not available at a station (sold-out tickets, no staff), use the intercom next to the ticket machines.

Getting off

  1. Touch out with the same IC card or contactless card you entered with.
  2. If you entered with a contactless credit card but get off at a station that does not support it, pay the fare in cash there and then report it at a station of the company where you boarded so the card's entry record is cancelled.
