IC cards and payment in detail
Daiyuzan Line (Odawara–Daiyuzan) only: PASMO can be used. The operator's pages name only PASMO; whether Suica and other nationwide IC cards work is not stated. Small unstaffed Daiyuzan Line stations have only simple IC card readers. PASMO top-up is only at the windows of Odawara, Sagami-Numata, Wadagahara and Daiyuzan; not at unstaffed stations. Sunzu Line (Mishima–Shuzenji): IC cards such as PASMO cannot be used; buy a ticket or use a contactless credit card instead. Contactless credit cards: Sunzu Line only (all 13 stations, since 18 December 2024): touch a contactless credit, debit or prepaid card (or a phone with one) on the reader at the gate instead of buying a ticket. Brands: Visa, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, UnionPay, and Mastercard since 27 May 2025. Not valid for the limited express Odoriko. The Daiyuzan Line does not take credit cards at all. P
Staffed stations: Sunzu Line Mishima, Mishima-Hirokoji, Daiba, Izu-Nagaoka and Shuzenji; Daiyuzan Line Odawara, Sagami-Numata, Wadagahara and Daiyuzan (Gohyakurakan part of the day).
Sunzu Line: buy a ticket, or touch a contactless credit card on the small reader at the staffed gate. IC cards do not work on this line.
Daiyuzan Line: buy a ticket, or touch PASMO at the gate.
Day passes and visitor passes do not go through automatic gates: use the staffed gate and show the pass.
Getting on
Sunzu Line: buy a ticket from the station ticket machine, or touch a contactless credit card on the pole-type reader at the entrance. With a pass or a mobile ticket, press the intercom at the gate and show it when asked.
Daiyuzan Line: touch PASMO on the simple IC card reader. With a mobile ticket, show the screen to the train crew.
