Suica (including mobile), PASMO and other IC cards cannot be used on the IGR line. If you touch in with an IC card anyway, you pay the fare in cash. P

Getting on

  1. Buy a ticket at the window or ticket machine (all stations except Tomai and Kotsunagi sell tickets). Credit cards are accepted only for coupon and commuter tickets at Morioka, Kuriyagawa, Takizawa, Iwate-Numakunai and Ninohe.
  2. At Morioka, the IGR gates are on the ground floor; JR platforms are on the 2nd floor north side. Leave the IGR gates to change (about 8 minutes).
  3. Seishun 18 Kippu is not valid: buy an IGR ticket or pay at your destination.

Getting on

  1. At unstaffed stations, or when the station staff are not there, take a numbered ticket (整理券 seiriken) on the train.
  2. On one-man trains at those times, use the door the operator's guide shows; the announcement on board tells you how to get off.
Wheelchair assistance
