IC cards and payment in detail

The local NORUCA card is touched on the readers at the station gates (entry and exit). One NORUCA pays for one person only on this line. Nationwide IC cards (交通系電子マネー) can pay for tickets at the ticket machines; the operator's pages do not say they can be touched on the readers to ride. P

Getting on

Every station has a ticket machine: buy your ticket before boarding. Ordinary tickets are not sold on the train.
At the machine, touch your destination station, insert cash (no ¥2,000, ¥5,000 or ¥10,000 notes) or choose cashless payment (e-money including nationwide IC cards, nanaco, WAON, QR code), then take the ticket.
NORUCA or a contactless credit card (with the touch-payment mark): touch it on the entry reader at the station gate.
Day passes and through tickets are sold at station windows.

Getting off

NORUCA or contactless credit card: touch the exit reader at the gate; the fare is charged automatically.
If your NORUCA balance is short, top up and settle at a station window (not with a credit card, e-money or QR).

Wheelchair assistance

Sakuramizu Station. Wheelchair users can ride; call in advance with date, time and boarding/alighting stations and staff will help you on and off. Tel. 024-557-9552
