IC cards and payment in detail

PASMO, Suica and the other nationwide transport IC cards (Kitaca, manaca, TOICA, PiTaPa, ICOCA, Hayakaken, nimoca, SUGOCA) work at every Enoden station. Fujisawa, Enoshima, Hase and Kamakura have ticket gates; every other station has upright simple card readers (簡易改札機): touch the green one when you get on and the yellow one when you get off. You need at least the minimum fare on the card to enter. PASMO and Suica can be charged at the ticket machines; other cards only at a staffed station window. Contactless credit/debit/prepaid cards and phones (Visa, JCB, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, UnionPay, Mastercard) also work at every station, adult fare only. P

PASMOの他にSuica・Kitaca・manaca・TOICA・PiTaPa・ICOCA・はやかけん・nimoca・SUGOCAが利用できます。

Getting on

  1. Applies at Fujisawa, Enoshima, Hase and Kamakura, the stations with ticket gates.
  2. Buy a ticket at the ticket machine (every station has one), or use an IC card such as PASMO or Suica, a contactless credit/debit card or phone, or a QR ticket (for example the digital Noriorikun or Enoshima-Kamakura Freepass bought in the EMot app).
  3. IC card: touch it on the ticket gate. Contactless card or phone: touch it on the reader of the dedicated touch-payment gate, or on the dedicated reader at the staffed window. QR ticket: hold the phone screen 2-3 cm from the QR reader on the right side of the touch-payment gate or at the window.
  4. Your IC card needs at least the minimum fare to enter. PASMO and Suica can be charged at the ticket machines; other IC cards only at the staffed window.

Getting off

  1. Leave through the ticket gate, touching the same IC card, or the same contactless card or device you entered with.
  2. If you rode past the station on your ticket, pay the fare difference.
  3. Kamakura: you can change to the JR Yokosuka Line through the connecting gate (鎌倉駅連絡口). Paper tickets: insert the Enoden and JR tickets together. IC card only: touch the card you rode with. Contactless cards and QR tickets cannot be used at this connecting gate.

Getting on

  1. Applies at every station except Fujisawa, Enoshima, Hase and Kamakura. Unstaffed stations are Ishigami, Yanagikoji, Kugenuma, Shonankaigankoen, Kamakurakokomae, Inamuragasaki, Gokurakuji, Yuigahama and Wadazuka.
  2. IC card: before boarding, touch it on the green upright simple card reader (簡易改札機). Touching is required every time; the reader is a tall post and easy to miss.
  3. Paper ticket: buy it at the ticket machine. Contactless card or phone, or QR ticket: touch or hold it at the dedicated reader installed at every station.
  4. If your IC card gives an error at an unstaffed station, call a staffed station on the intercom beside the ticket machine; it may take some time.

Getting off

  1. IC card: touch it on the yellow upright simple card reader when you get off.
  2. Paper ticket: hand it to a nearby crew member, or put it in the used-ticket box.
  3. Contactless card or phone: touch the same card or device you entered with on the dedicated reader.
Wheelchair assistance

Phone number of Enoden's Railway Department, Transport Section (鉄道部運輸課), weekdays 9:30-12:00 and 13:00-17:00. Wheelchair users: at Fujisawa, Enoshima, Hase and Kamakura (staffed all day) come to the station window in good time and say where you are going; staff set up a ramp. Koshigoe (10:00-16:00) and Shichirigahama (9:45-17:20) have a wheelchair lift usable only in those hours, taking about 10 minutes. The other unstaffed stations are barrier-free: no advance call is needed, tell the conductor when you board and where you will get off, and the conductor sets up the ramp. At Kugenuma use the elevator. Tel. 0466-24-2713
