IC cards and payment in detail

PiTaPa, ICOCA, Kitaca, Suica, PASMO, TOICA, manaca, SUGOCA, Hayakaken and nimoca are accepted. Eizan does not sell IC cards. At unstaffed stations touch the IC card reader on the platform/station before boarding and the reader on the train when you get off; if the card has no boarding or alighting record you pay cash. One card per person; no combining with other tickets; IC cards cannot pay a fare adjustment for another ticket, and cannot be used when the system is down. P

Getting on

  1. Demachiyanagi is staffed all day and has ticket machines and automatic gates: buy a ticket or touch your IC card at the gate.
  2. Ticket machines also at Yase-Hieizanguchi (only on busy days), Kibuneguchi (10:00–17:00) and Kurama (9:30–16:20).

Getting on

  1. All trains are one-man. Without an IC card, take a boarding-station certificate (乗車駅証明書) at the station before boarding.
  2. With an IC card, touch the IC reader at the station before boarding.
  3. Board by the rear door (on 2-car trains: the rear door of the front car); wait at the 乗車口 mark on the platform. You may also board at the front exit door after passengers have got off.
