Step-free accessStation list →PStep-free from entrance to platform at Kiryū (elevator), Ōmama, Kami-Kambai, Hanawa, Gōdo and Mato; only one platform is step-free at Mizunuma, Sōri and Ashio, the others have steep slopes or stairs. Each station page shows its route and toilets; there is a step between platform and train everywhere.
Suica, PASMO and other IC cards cannot be used, also not between Kiryū and Aioi. Coming from JR or Tōbu on an IC card: leave the gates and buy a ticket, or touch the card on the simple 'exit' (出場用) reader on the Watarase platform at Kiryū or Aioi, then pay the Watarase fare in cash on board or at your destination. Getting on
Buy a ticket before boarding: Aioi, Ōmama, Tsūdō and Ashio stations sell tickets for every section; Kiryū sells tickets from Kiryū only. Tickets are also sold at travel agencies and as GunMaaS digital tickets.
Mato Station is unstaffed and Ashio/Tsūdō windows are not always open: buy in advance when travelling from the Ashio area.
Torokko trains need a Torokko seat ticket (トロッコ整理券, adult ¥700, child ¥300) on top of the fare.
Getting on
Most stations are unstaffed: board without a ticket and pay the fare in cash on the train or at your destination station.
Wheelchair assistance
Ōmama Station (7:30–17:10) or head office 0277-73-2110 (weekdays 9:00–17:00). Most stations are unstaffed and local trains are one-man, so wheelchair users must travel with a helper (two or more needed because of the step between platform and train). Local trains and Torokko Wasshī can take a wheelchair; Torokko Watarase Keikoku cannot. Call before travelling. Tel. 0277-72-1117

Day of purchase (stations); travel agencies sell it for a chosen date from 1 month before. The GunMaaS digital version can be used on any one day within 100 days of purchase.
Valid only between the stations named; outside that stretch you pay the fare. Stretches marked “unofficial source” come from Wikipedia or travel sites, and “estimated from the official map” ones were read off the issuer's map image, not its text: check the official map before you buy.
