PASMO, Suica and other transport IC cards cannot be touched at the gates; you can only use them to pay for a ticket at the window (boarding at Ōyamadera, the middle station, you settle at the end station). Contactless credit/debit/prepaid cards and phones, and EMot (Odakyu app) QR tickets, can be touched at the readers instead. P
Buy a ticket at the window (cash or IC card), or ride ticketless: touch a contactless credit/debit card or phone, or show an EMot QR ticket, at the reader.
At Ōyama Cable and Afuri Jinja stations the readers are at the gate; at Ōyamadera (middle station) they are at the station entrance, with separate readers for boarding and getting off.
Contactless cards: adult fare only (no child fare), one person per card; discounts (groups, disability) need a ticket from the window.
Operating hours: weekdays 9:00–16:30, weekends and holidays 9:00–17:00; service stops in heavy rain, strong wind or lightning.
