IC cards and payment in detail

You ride with a paper ticket (seat-reserved, capacity-limited trains), not by touching an IC card. At the ticket window you can, however, pay for tickets with transport IC cards as e-money (Suica, ICOCA, Kitaca, PASMO, manaca, SUGOCA, nimoca, Hayakaken, TOICA), credit cards (JCB, Visa, Mastercard, AMEX, Diners), debit cards, iD, QUICPay, Rakuten Edy, WAON, nanaco, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPay, d-barai and au PAY. Web bookings are paid by credit card; additions and changes are settled in cash only. P

Getting on

  1. Book by phone or on the web ticket site from 3 months to 15:00 the day before (individuals under 15 people), or buy a same-day ticket at the Unazuki Station window from 7:40. Booking is recommended at Golden Week, Obon and in the autumn-leaf season. Boarding at Kuronagi cannot be booked.
  2. All trains have capacity limits and every passenger gets a seat. The Relax (windowed) cars need an extra ¥600 car ticket per ride.
  3. From 1 October to 30 November 2026 the whole line Unazuki – Keyakidaira runs: one way adult ¥2,480, child ¥1,240 (Unazuki – Kanetsuri ¥1,780 / ¥890, Unazuki – Kuronagi ¥830 / ¥420). Return tickets are valid for 2 days. At Kanetsuri and Keyakidaira allow at least 20 minutes even if you return straight away; around Keyakidaira only the station and visitor centre are open (repair work).
  4. There are no toilets on the trains, and pets are not allowed (not even in cages).
Wheelchair assistance

Wheelchair users can ride. The open cars have benches without backrests and you must step over between cars, so the Relax cars are recommended (door width 59 cm); barrier-free cars with wider doors run only on some trains, ask in advance. On the day tell the station staff at the gate; early boarding can be arranged. Unazuki Station has an accessible toilet and an elevator (platform – gate); Kuronagi and Kanetsuri have no accessible toilet. Customer Center 0765-62-1011 (9:00–16:30). Tel. 0765-62-1011
