- Free on-call boats link the islands (Nonoshima – Ishihama, and Nonoshima – Sabusawa – Hōjima) for residents and visitors: phone the boatman from the pier.
- No sailings while a tsunami advisory or warning is in force; strong wind, high waves or fog can also disrupt the service.
