Where to buy

• Ticket machine at the Shingu ferry waiting room for boats from Shingu, at the Ainoshima waiting room for boats from the island

Paying: The ticket machines take transport IC cards (nimoca, SUGOCA etc.), Rakuten Edy, QUICPay, WAON and nanaco (no top-ups).

Good to know P

• On weekends and holidays boats can be full and you may not get on.
• Cancellations for high waves are decided 30 min before the departure from Ainoshima.
• From 5 October to 5 November 2026 a smaller relief boat (80 seats) runs: morning boats from Shingu and afternoon boats from the island are likely to be full, island residents board first, and no trolleys, carts or fishing gear are allowed.
• If many visitors are on the island, boarding to Ainoshima may be refused so that everyone can get back.
• Bicycles cannot be taken on Saturdays, Sundays or holidays.
