Booking recommended. Reservations are taken all year and the city asks passengers to book in advance: online through the reservation form, or by phone 0234-22-3911 (10:00–17:00). Return tickets need the date and boat of the way back. Cars and large loads: ask beforehand.

- Travel-agency vouchers are exchanged for tickets at the window

- Boarding starts 20 minutes before departure (30 minutes in busy periods) and closes 5 minutes before.
- The Tobishima returned to service on 30 September 2026 after engine repairs; car transport is still limited for a while, with island residents' cars first.
- Hand luggage is limited to 2 pieces per person; cool boxes of 30 litres or more cost extra.
