Booking recommended. Online booking is recommended. Off-season you can usually just turn up, but if the ferry is full you cannot board. Bookings open 2 months ahead (online until 4 h before departure, by phone until 1 h 30 min before). Check in at the terminal about 30 min before departure.

- Ticket counter on the 1st floor of the ferry terminal at Yawatahama and at Usuki, open from one hour before each departure
- Ferry coupons from travel agencies, exchanged for a ticket at the counter on the day
