Booking: not confirmed. On busy Saturdays, Sundays, holidays, at Obon or when a smaller relief boat is used, numbered boarding tickets are handed out from 1 hour before Kokura departures and passenger numbers are capped; without one you cannot board. A notice by the Kokura waiting-room entrance says whether tickets are being issued.
