Booking recommended. The operator asks everyone to book. Without a booking you can still board if there is space on the day. Phone and online bookings open at 9:00 two months before the sailing date. Booking online (Funet) gives 20% off except in busy (C) and peak (D) periods.

• Ticket window at the ferry terminal (opens 9:00, until the last departure); fill in a boarding form and pay there
• Online booking (Funet) with an e-ticket QR code: no check-in at the window needed
• Travel agency coupons are exchanged for tickets at the window

Good to know P

• Foot passengers must be at the boarding gate 15 minutes before departure, or they may not be able to board.
• A free connecting bus (Nishitetsu) runs from JR Kokura Station (Shinkansen north exit) and JR Moji Station to the Shin-Moji terminals before each departure.
• From the Kobe terminal a bus runs free to Rokko Liner Island-kita-guchi Station; on to Hanshin Mikage, JR Sumiyoshi and Hankyu Mikage it costs 230 yen (adults).
• The Kobe bus has no luggage hold; with a lot of luggage you may have to wait 40–60 min for the next bus.
